Retired Leather Bags
I enjoyed making my handsewn leather bags for many years, but they have taken a toll on my wrists. I am no longer offering these designs, but I am very proud of them and wanted to find a way to include them on my website. I hope you enjoy checking out some of my early work.
Hand-Stitched Doctor's Bag
Size: 13.5" wide x 11.5" tall x 6" deep (Closed)
When I started designing my current line of canvas and leather tool-bag-style bags, I would make a hand-stitched version and then make one on the sewing machine. Going back and forth during the prototyping stages helped me fine-tune the dimensions and many of the details that I'm most excited about.
Large Hand-Stitched Leather Tote
Size: 13" x 6" x 15" (L x W x H) (20" across the top when closed)
The first version of this bag was the diaper bag I made for my wife when we first found out we were going to have a baby back in 2017. One of my favorite details from my handsewn leather totes was the overlapping seams on the sides that show off the stitching and also helped keep the interior nice and spacious.
Medium Hand-Stitched Leather Tote
Size: 10.5" x 6" x 12.75" (L x W x H) (16.5" across the top when closed)
I made the first version of this "Medium Tote" for myself. It's been such a long time, I can't specifically remember the details that helped dictate the size, but I do remember wanting to be able to carry a Tupperware container with my lunch in it flat in the bottom so it wouldn't spill.
I made a couple over the years with longer handles and various arrangements for the pockets.
Hand-Stitched Leather Crossbody Bag
Size: 9" wide (bottom) x 10.25" tall x 3.25" deep
This is another design that I originally made for my wife that I ended up offering online as a product. I really liked the clean look of the dropdown zipper on the crossbody.
Hand-Stitched Leather Small Tote Bag
Size: 7.25" wide (at the bottom) x 11.5" wide (at the top) x 8.6" tall x 4.5" deep
This size was a custom request that I made for a customer. I really liked how it turned out.
Hand-Stitched Leather Padfolio
Size: 13.5" wide x 10.75" tall x 1" deep
This was a simple unlined padfolio designed to carry a notepad and a small laptop.
Dopp Kit
Size: 8.5" x 4.25" x 4.25" (L x W x H)
Setting an all-leather dopp kit on a wet bathroom sink isn't really the best idea, but I use one when I travel and it has worked well for me for many years.
Hand-stitched Leather Cosmetic Pouch
Size: 4.5" wide (at the bottom) x 8.5" wide (at the top) x 4.75" tall x 4.5" deep
This was another product I made as a custom request. I'm not sure how I let the customer talk me into making an unlined piece. That's not something I would normally do, but nevertheless, I thought the shape is really interesting.
